About The Dearborn Foundation

PURPOSE OF THE FOUNDATION

The Dearborn Foundation offers scholarships to qualifying US citizens for education in engineering and precision machining. As an entrepreneur and inventor all his life, Mr. Dearborn understood that to maintain a leading role in the world, the United States desperately needs more inventors to guide engineers and entrepreneurs. These inventors are individuals who can think beyond the standard and accepted ways of doing things. Typically, engineers are taught to do what has already been successfully accomplished and accepted as standard practice. Dearborn Scholarship recipients are individuals with analytical minds capable of independent thinking based on an understanding of natural sciences, especially physics, who want to venture further than the curricula of engineering schools. Scholarship applicants must be someone who could be an innovator, inventor, or designer with a vision for the future. The Dearborn Foundation would like to find, aid, and promote the future Edisons, Wright Brothers, Sikorskis, Goddards, Franklins, Bells, Fords and many more.
